Do You Have Leg, Hand Or Facial Veins You Want To Remove?

It is hard to keep your attention diverted when facing vein issues that aren’t out of sight. Although veins on your face or hands are not unhealthy, inflamed veins on hands and face are sometimes just absolutely annoying. Additionally, you might have varicose or spider veins, and they both are treatable. Due to advanced laser treatment, it is easy to restore the blood flow or reduce varicose and spider veins.

Your heart pumps blood full of oxygen and nutrients and pass it through your arteries. After that, your veins take the blood back to your heart from different parts of your body. The valves in your veins ensure a one-way path flowing blood back to your heart. However, during this process, there is a possibility of blood leakage into the lower part of your body if your vein valves don’t work properly. As time passes, the amount of blood stuck increases in the vein, and it builds pressure that damages the walls of the veins. As a result, your veins will grow larger than normal.

Hand Veins

We always wish to have a youthful and flawless appearance, and some people want to improve the look of their hands. People look for perfect and safer ideas to ensure their sophistication. Our age tends to show up faster on our hands more than any other part of our body. Some veins become bulgy due to loss of vein elasticity, the water content of tissues, collagen, and fat.

As the years pass, fatty tissues in your hands diminish, and the elasticity of your skin increasedue to which your hand veins look swollen and ropy.

Procedure To Remove Hand Veins

A very simple laser treatment option is sclerotherapy. Using a unique device known as a catheter, doctors visualize the damaged veins. After that, they use a tiny needle and direct it gently, with extremely effective medicine into the affected veins.

The sclerosing treatment causes the walls of the veins to fall and heal through the natural process. The best part about sclerosing is you can continue with your regular routine immediately.

Painless sclerotherapy is most preferred for hand veins, and the whole procedure takes almost 15-20 minutes to complete. After returning to your regular activities, it would be better to wear compression gloves for around 12 hours of your day.

Resuming your daily routine doesn’t mean you should start exercising; you can visit your gym after one or two days of treatment. There is a high possibility that the veins will not vanish entirely after the first treatment. For best results, you might require 1-3 treatments.

Sclerotherapy of hand veins is a safe procedure. There have been no difficulties regarding hand injections for more than 30 years. After the treatment, there will be a little black and blue mild swelling for almost 24 hours. Sclerotherapy treatment is the best type of hand veins therapy. Also, some doctors rarely use mini-phlebectomy too.

Facial Veins

Veins on the face appear in all sizes and shapes. There are tiny, red spiders veins on the nose and cheeks. However, there are a massive amount of facial veins. Due to advanced technology, you can quickly get rid of these facial blemishes. These advanced treatments follow effective and safe procedures.

People often refer to facial veins as small broken blood vessels, spider veins, broken capillaries, facial telangiectasia, or rosacea veins. They can appear as a tiny red or blue thread on cheeks or nose areas and large blue veins around your eye or smile lines.

Procedure To Remove Facial Veins

The treatment of facial veins will depend on the location and diameter of the veins. Doctors and cosmetologists evaluate each case individually. After evaluation, they recommend performing either sclerotherapy or laser facial therapy. However, the large bluish veins respond quite well to sclerotherapy. So, it would be better to consider sclerotherapy in this scenario.

Sclerotherapy has few advantages, like polarizing lenses, better magnification, and tinier needles. Tiny needles will allow you to inject the medicine in smaller facial veins as well. However, laser therapy treats all the leftover small red veins. It is easy to treat facial veins with sclerotherapy.   You may treat tiny red lines or matted telangiectasia.

Leg Veins

Spider veins and varicose veins are twisted and swollen veins. They usually appear on your legs due to poor blood circulation. However, you will witness that majority of women have varicose veins and spider veins. Because of pregnancy, obesity, and older age, the risk of varicose veins will increase more than usual.

Varicose veins of your legs are often painless, and usually, they do not cause any health issues. But you can remove them with different methods of treatment. The treatments for varicose veins include sclerotherapy and foam sclerotherapy. You can also use cyro sclerotherapy, duplex-guided sclerotherapy, and endovenous laser therapy.

Foam Sclerotherapy

Foam sclerotherapy is a new technique to deliver the sclerosing agent to treat varicose veins. Earlier, large varicose veins were quite difficult to treat by using conventional sclerotherapy, and that method has a low success rate. Foam sclerotherapy has two different ways for treating varicose veins.

In the first technique, you can displace the blood from a damaged vein with the help of foam. With displacement of blood, the complete force of the sclerosing agent comes into contact directly with the walls of the vein for an unlimited time without any dilution.

The second method of foam sclerotherapy uses ultrasound imaging techniques. Through ultrasound imaging, the foam is noticeable, and you can easily track and guide the sclerosing agent to the target area. For large veins, you can use the foam along with an ultrasound machine.

The whole procedure involving foam sclerotherapy can take place in an office (clinic), and the session will last for around 30 to 40 minutes. Doctors inject a small amount of a sclerosing (ablating or sealing) agent into the vein with a tiny needle. It closes the problematic veins and allows the flow of blood to reroute to other healthy veins. The number of foam sclerotherapy sessions depends on the number of damaged veins.

Foam Sclerotherapy For Varicose Veins

Hence, the purpose of foam sclerotherapy is related to cosmetics. It eliminates all unattractive varicose or spider veins and also treats tiredness and heaviness of the legs.

There are several treatments available for every individual situation. Sometimes, a general cosmetic problem might end up being a serious, underlying problem. In such scenarios, other treatments like ambulatory phlebectomy or non-foam sclerotherapy might work better. Alternatively, you can also have laser ablation and radiofrequency ablation as solutions.

What to Expect After Foam Sclerotherapy

Experts recommend compression pads, bandage, and stockings after the foam sclerotherapy procedure for the first 5 days. After 5 days, you can remove the bandage and pads. You can wear the stockings for a further 7 days.

During those 7 days, you might remove the stocking to shower and sleeping at night, but keep wearing them while working. You can wear stockings for longer only if you find them comfortable, as they can help you. Keep your stocking safely after you are done using them. You may use them again if you have additional injections.

Also, walking and other general activities are a must for you. You can perform many normal activities without any problem, but if you still have concerns, please contact your doctor and visit websites for vein treatments. They will provide you necessary guidance about your pre and post foam sclerotherapy procedure.

Indeed, you can perform normal activities after this treatment, and you do not have to stay away from anything in particular. However, driving is not safe on the day the procedure is performed, because there is a possibility that you might experience visual disturbances.

Most doctors recommend walking twice a day during the first week of the procedure. In the first week after foam sclerotherapy, it would be better to avoid performing any rigorous lower-body exercise. Moreover, below are a few more things you must know about this procedure:

  • Most people require more than one treatment.
  • Currently, this procedure treats visible spider veins.
  • It does not stop the development of new spider veins.

Is Foam Sclerotherapy Safe?

There are different risks in every medical procedure that should be considered carefully before proceeding with a particular treatment. Since sclerotherapy is often used for treating cosmetics problems, doctors must explain all the untoward and dangerous side effects for their patients.

This procedure is not painless because it requires injections to insert under your skin. The tiny needles carry chemicals, and they inject those chemicals into your skin. Therefore, some chemicals (sclerosants) can cause more pain than others.

Post Treatment Care

Post-treatment care instructions advise patients to wear compression dressings for almost one to three weeks after treatment. They must pay a follow-up visit every two weeks to enable the flow of blood clots in larger veins, which can improve the appearance and the prognosis.

If you wear compression stockings for approximately 3 weeks, it will enhance the efficacy of sclerotherapy. Compression stockings will also improve the clinical vessel’s disappearance. Therefore, if you prefer not to wear the compression stockings, you increase the risk for complications.
